Bangkok Airways will fly to Vientiane on 1 December 2012 marking the carrier’s first-ever connection to the Lao capital.
The Airbus A319 aircraft will depart Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi International Airport at 8:15am and arrive in Vientiane at 9:30am. The return flight will leave Vientiane at 10.10am and land in Bangkok at 11.25am.
The new connection commences during the current “Visit Laos Year 2012”, a tourism initiative that reflects the special culture of Laos and the multi-ethnic lifestyle of its people through grand stage performances, traditional dances, and music and fashion shows.
The carrier already operates a daily flight to the UNESCO World Heritage town of Luang Prabang and previously used to fly to Pakse but this route was abandoned due to poor passenger numbers.
Other carriers serving the Bangkok-Vientiane sector include Thai Airways International, Lao Airlines and Lao Central Airlines.
